Making Sense of Love by Emma Kendall

This is my first post on this blog and my first ever book review!

My first book review is of Making Sense of Love by Emma Kendall. I purchased this book after seeing it advertised on Facebook.

Adele Fox is twenty nine, and she is autistic. Being single is her 'normal'. Her colleague Mel suggests she tries speed dating. The speed dating night is a complete disaster, Adele doesn't know what to talk about, so she sticks to talking about her special interest, singer Rhys Keegan. Adele is completely out of her depth.

After a chance meeting with a charming travel agent, Tom, Adele is whisked away to Paris for the weekend. While there, she tries to tell Tom that she is autistic, but he reacts negatively.

Adele has all but given up on the idea of romance, until she turns to her best friend, Adam. After he stops her from killing herself after Tom's rejection, the two begin seeing each other.

I really enjoyed this book. It felt really validating as an autistic person to read Adele's story and see how she deals with things. The author, Emma Kendall, is also autistic, and I can really feel that through her writing.
